We got a screaming and crying Paris Hilton being dragged back to jail, about 36 hours after being released for some really nebulous reason:
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Paris Hilton was taken from a courtroom screaming and crying on Friday after a judge ordered her returned to jail to serve out her entire 45-day sentence for a parole violation in a reckless driving case.
"It's not right!" shouted the weeping Hilton. "Mom!" she called out to her mother in the audience.
Yeah, baby.
But it got me thinking. Despite the opportunity for orgasmic schadenfreude here, I am actually finding myself almost feeling sorry for our femme fatale. No, strike that. Not sorry, but somewhat sympathetic toward.
That's not
And she deserved it. She seemed to believe that the law didn’t apply to her, as she was caught twice behind the wheel of a car after having her license suspended. And, the 23 days of her initial jail sentence, while on the long end, certainly didn’t seem extreme. I wonder how 45 must feel.
However, what has happened in the last two days is just the stuff of pure mondo bizzarro. And I don’t blame our beloved little
The blame falls on the Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Department for being so completely stupid as to think no one would care that little miss “that’s hot” would be let out because she didn’t like jail. If anything, the mensa member who concocted her release should be made to serve the 45 days along with our delicate little Paris.
LA Sherriff's spokesman, Steve Whitmore, pissing on our shoes but trying to tell us it's really just rain
This sort of backdoor shenanigans might have flown 10 years ago, but the public, even here in LA, is finally tired of seeing so-called celebrities get away with things. And poor little
Still, I can’t say I’m not grinning at least a little. In a way this is really just a small adjustment, where Karma has finally decided to wake up and take charge. The sad thing is, you know none of this will actually reach the depth (if there is one) of
But she’s back in jail, crying and wailing, and wondering why god has abandoned her, and I’m getting ready to enjoy a perfect LA weekend.

From what I understand, it isn't so unusual to toss out a non-violent offender after 10% sentence served, but I really don't GAF that they've decided to make her do the whole thing. At any point they could make anyone serve their whole time, so why NOT Paris? And that whole "medical" issue made it seem so bogus -- her reps really screwed her over with that one. Anyway, IMO a DUI should count as a violent crime. I've never understood this blase attitude so many have toward the lethal potential of operating a motor vehical.
or even a vehicle.
A Fez post! For a second I thought my RSS feed must surely be whacked.
Paula's spot on about the medical thing. It was great when they interviewed another female inmate who said that if she was sick, they would send her to the infirmary or, in a severe case, to the county hospital under guard. Then what? When the doc signs off on you BAM, back to your cell.
I'm holding out hope for Paris, though. Didn't you see all those spiritual books she bought?
I had very litle sympathy for her anyway but when i read that her excuse was because she has someone else to read her letters for her so she didn't actually know she was banned, the sympathy went into minus.
I really have to get myself one of this RSS reader gizmo thingies. Google reader the best choice?
In spite of trying to maintain karmic maturity, I was all aflutter with "orgasmic schadenfreude" when she got her smarmy puss winged back in the slammer. Her histrionics were just garnish on the platter--so used to her family paying off/buying their way, this was surely a cold hard reality check.
Ha. Fucking. HA.
So now that Paris has gone down (insert punchline of choice here)... whither Phil Spector?
Is he as innocent as Robert Blake and William Kennedy Smith or as guilty as Michael Jackson and OJ? (or should that be the other way round?)...
UV: I've heard about folks being released after serving a fraction of their jail time too. And honestly, that part wasn't nearly as odd or suspicious as how the Sherriff explained her "re-assignment." It was like the reasons for the Iraq war. First one thing, than another, as if they were hoping something would make sense.
O'Tim: It was about six weeks of silence, I figured you all deserved some irritation. Besides, Lucy begged me to post ...
Lucy and RL: There absolutely is a good feeling about seeing Paris in the orange jump suit. Though, I actually find myself more disturbed by the whole increase in her sentence. She was originally sent in for 23 days. Her lawyer and a nefarious Sherriff's dept let her out early. And then the judge punishes her by doubling her jail time. Seems like this is the one real time Paris really didn't do anything. That whole thing makes me feel a bit uneasy.
Cheezy: Spector is going down hard. Aside from being a "C" list celeb, he looks weird and is a complete and utter freak. If he were more palatable, he might have a chance. But he's toast.
And do you have permission from the minion master to post here?

I'm not sure - I thought I'd sneak one in while no one was looking... erm... ook :)
My guess is that the judge was up to his eyebrows with the behind the scenes shenanigans to end run his ruling--all of which were in her name. The only respect she has shown for the law was behaving when she was booked for the DUI. Her subsequent behavior was flipping everyone off. Then her people tried to buy off or coerce her out of her due.
I can completely understand why the judge rescinded the break she was given in the first place.
What would get me VERY excited and I do mean very, is if she can somehow, in another 3 days, get out again..and THEN be tossed back in.
Cause that would totally trip her up.
I like to see the rich, spolied and dumb (I mean all those things combined. I don't make a habit of taking joy in the dumbs' misery.)suffer just a little bit.
